I've been nominated by the folks at engadget.com as a candidate for the best GPS device of 2005. The winners are announced next Friday (February 3). Please vote for me here (http://awards.engadget.com/). You can only vote once, so make it count!
We're proud to announce the fourth and final winner from our nüvi-a-day at CES giveaway. M. Brasel from Fairfield, California is the lucky recipient of a nüvi 350. Thanks to everyone for playing… and keep an eye on this site in the future… we've got big plans in store!
Hi Mates! It's been awhile since I've posted, but after a couple of weeks on the road (CES and MacWorld) I took a couple of days off.
Anyhoo, I wanted to post some sweet-looking pics of the mad scene at MacWorld… the Garmin booth was jam-packed the entire time, and it was very gratifying to hear Mac customers get excited about our compatibility announcement.
On a related note, stay tuned to this blog for some big changes… you all have spoken, so we're hoping to make this place bigger and better than ever… don't change that channel!
It took us a couple of days, but we finally got in contact with M. Redmond of Laredo, Texas -- the Day Three winner of the nüvi-a-day sweepstakes. Stay tuned for the fourth and final winner, to be announced shortly.
Before MacWorld started, I had some time to see the city, which included the requisite trolley ride and visit to Alcatraz. As you can see, I even met up with my buddy, the Forerunner 305. Before long, all you Mac users will be able to take advantage of MotionBased.com to track your workouts.
Hi folks... big news!!! Garmin secretly showed up at MacWorld in San Francisco today, and announced compatibility for the Mac OS X platform. You can see how secret things were... our entire booth was shrouded in plastic to protect our identity. We're thoroughly excited about joining with the folks from Cupertino, and we hope to have all of our applications Mac-ready ASAP. For more on the announcement, check out garmin.com.
Hi gang… I was featured on yesterday's National Public Radio broadcast with David Pogue. Click on the link to listen (my portion is about three minutes into the broadcast). Also, I'm featured on the CES homepage (www.cesweb.org) as the "hottest technology."
B. Newell, our Day One winner, checked in and informed us that she's excited about using her new nuvi on an extended road trip to the western U.S. that she's planning for this summer. She was turned on to Garmin by a relative who's a satellite design engineer. How's that for an endorsement?
Whew, what a week it's been! It's been a great CES, and thanks to everyone for tuning in and keeping track of my many exploits. And congratulations to those nuvi winners! Our hope is that we might be able to keep this site going in some form or fashion. What would you like to see happen? Do you have a nuvi of your own? Where have you taken it and what have you done with it? Any interesting stories, tips, or tricks? Send us emails and photos (keep it clean, folks) to firstname.lastname@example.org. And by all means, stay tuned.
